Volunteer Opportunities at the NH West Chapter
The American Red Cross is only successful because of the hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the nation who give of themselves every day. Not only do our clients benefit from the work of volunteers, the volunteers have the opportunity to give back to their communities, learn new skills, practice what they learn, and teach others. The NH West Chapter has over 500 active volunteers and we are always recruiting. Consider joining us! Here are some of the many opportunities we have for you:
Transportation:
Drivers -
We have a critical need for Drivers to transport clients who have no other means of transportation, to medical appointments and other personal appointments.
Disaster and Emergency Services:
Disaster Action Team Member - Prepare for local disasters by organizing, planning, and training. Respond to local disasters, e.g. fires, winter storms, floods, etc., and provide disaster victims with their immediate needs of shelter, food, clothing, and TLC. Help communities prevent and prepare for disaster by offering community disaster education.
National Disaster Volunteer - Once you've been trained to work on local disasters you may want to offer your time as a national disaster volunteer to provide services across the country.
Blood Services:
Blood Drive Volunteers - Assist at community blood drives by registering blood donors, providing escort services, and serving refreshments.
Health and Safety:
Instructors - Teach any of our many classes such as CPR and First Aid, Babysitting, and Water Safety.
